exactly is Barleycorn's Craft Brew? |

| Barleycorn's
is a Personal Brewing Facility and Microbrewery Individuals and small groups of people can use our facilities to brew their own favorite beer, make their own wine or soft drinks. We also sell supplies and ingredients for homebrewing. |

| Do I need to make an appointment ? | An appointment is not always required, but is strongly recommended. We have 6 kettles available for brewing, but there are many times when we are fully booked. It’s best to call an schedule a time so that you will not be disappointed. |
| What can I brew ? | You can choose the particular style of beer you prefer from our extensive recipe list of over 130 different varieties or you can design your own recipe to suit your particular tastes. We offer recipes for almost any style of beer, from a light domestic to a dark stout and virtually everything in between. We have approximately 15 choices for wines and 10 options for sodas as well. |
| What is the role of the customer ? | The customer measures out the required ingredients, adds them to the individual steam-fired copper kettles at prescribed times and stirs the mixture during the boil. The cooked beer is flash cooled and transferred to a fermenting vessel to be stored in our temperature controlled rooms. Two weeks later, the customer returns to bottle the beer, apply the custom designed labels and take it home for enjoyment and gift giving. |
| How long does it take ? | The process involves two sessions, each requiring approximately 2 hours time. You brew in the first session, then return in two weeks to bottle and label your beer with your own custom designed labels. |
| How much does it cost ? | The cost for brewing most beers is between $150 and $200, depending on the style of beer you choose. |
| How much beer do I get ? | The yield is approximately six cases of 12oz. or 72 bottles of 22oz bottles of beer. Bottles may be purchased from us or you may bring your own. Many of our customers like to brew with a group of friends. Keep in mind that we have six kettles available, so a group of friends could brew several batches at the same time and have a variety of beers to take home ! |
| What about labels? | Custom labels are included in the price. Anything you want on your label as long as you email it to us at least 24 hours prior to bottling. Jpeg, PDF's, or eps files that are 4 x 3-1/2" and no more than 300 dpi are preferred. Also mention what bottle size you will be using, 12 or 22 ounce bottles. No Excel Spread Sheets or Word Documents please! |
| When are you open? | Our regular hours are from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday & Tuesday, 12 Noon to 8:00 PM on Thursday & Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday. We are closed on Wednesday. Additional times can be made available to accommodate special requests. |
| What
if I'm not happy with the beer I've brewed ? |
No problem. We're so confident
of our brewing process and the quality of the ingredients used that if
you are not completely satisfied with your beer, we will allow you to
brew again or we'll refund your money. So come on in and give it a try.
